Choosing a brand name for your cosmetic – Episode 4

Episode 4 – What should you call your beauty product brand?  What makes one name good and another name bad?  In this episode we answer those questions and reveal how we ended up with the name of our own brand.

For nearly all consumer products your brand is how your customers know you. It tells people about you. People come to identify it and for people who like you, they come to feel like your brand is a friend. So picking the right brand name is nearly as important as naming a child. But how do you come up with a good name? How do you get something iconic like Coke or Apple or Olay, Neutrogena or Pantene? In this episode we cover the topic of figuring out who your customer will be. When you’re starting a personal care product line one of the biggest mistakes people make is not thinking about who their customers are. Often, people end up making products that they like and then figure that if they like them, other people will like them. Unfortunately, this isn’t always true.
